The Black Keys‘ “Dearest” is off Rave On Buddy Holly, a cover album honoring one of the biggest innovators within America’s rock ‘n’ roll landscape. The tribute album, released by Fantasy/Concord earlier this year, also featured Florence and the Machine, Modest Mouse, Cee-Lo, My Morning Jacket, Fiona Apple, the Strokes’ Julian Casablancas, and many more Holly fans.
In a time where over-stimulating pop rules the airwaves–and we fall into its temptress arms–I would like to pay homage to the bullied, marginalized rock ‘n’ rollers of our time. Bands like The Black Keys, who leave the gimmicks for others, and the raw feelings up to them.
The Keys will be launching a headline tour of Europe and the UK in January & February 2012. So be sure to grab tickets while you still can. Enjoy!
