“Crazy for You” was recorded especially for the 1985 film Vision Quest, a coming of age drama about a wrestler played by Matthew Modine and later released as a single. The track ushered a new musical direction for Madonna. Previously she had not released a ballad as a single before, and the record label was pretty scared of it taking away the attention from Madonna’s second studio album “Like a Virgin”. This single proved that she can sing in a different genre of music.
