LA based IAMSOUND, the label responsible for the debut releases of Florence and The Machine, Banks, and Charli XCX to name a few, comes through on the forefront of taste once again with some seriously distinguished sound to stand out amidst the vast sea of noise.
T.O.L.D aka The Order of Life and Death, is the impressively definitive project of Birmingham, UK native Dan Smith. The recent Los Angeles transplant extends some very compelling material via his debut 3-track EP ‘Heaven’ consisting of a fresh electropop oriented production value, emotive lyrical tactics, and a strong conception of the meaning his music takes on which he draws insight to in the statement below.
“Fichte once wrote ‘To be free is nothing, to become free is heaven’. That’s why the EP is called Heaven. We all struggle to be free in one way or another. The story itself is based on the oldest sci-fi novel ever written, The Book of Ezekiel.”
