Of Monsters and Men‘s “Little Talks” speaks volumes, despite its misleading title. It’s a fun-filled party of a song, with tooting horns, acoustics, and drum smashing that forms a rager in your ears. The back and forth conversation of  sweet nothings and somethings between the duo throughout the song finishes with each bold chorus yelling, “LISTEN TO A WORD I SAY! HEY!” It reminds me of the emotionally lovable hit, “Home” by Edward Sharpe and Magnetic Zeros. I’m sure I’m not the first to make the comparison.

The duo adds up to an Icelandic foursome with the complete group, including singer/guitarists Nanna Bryndís Hilmarsdóttir and Raggi þórhallsson, along with drummer Arnar Rósenkranz Hilmarsson and guitarist Brynjar Leifsson. The rockin’ folk band has already found immense recognition by their win of the Músiktilraunir, a nationwide battle of the bands competition in Iceland. As you can imagine by the astounding musical talents coming out of that cold, little country, the award is quite the accomplishment.

Goodness gracious this is one addictive track. Get hooked! Get happy!…And just try not to tap your toes and twirl your skirts.
