Mike Posner : Please Don’t Go

Time flies when you’re getting famous, not speaking from experience or anything but I’m sure Mike Posner can relate. It’s only been some months since he finished school at Duke University and began his full-fledged pursuit of a music career. First signing a deal with J Records then releasing his single Cooler than me (covered by trendland back in February of 2010) which has been rocking the radio and charts for months now refusing lose momentum still getting a crazy number of spins on virtually every popular radio station around. And now, without further ado yet another golden single, “Please Don’t Go”, off his upcoming album 31 Minutes to Take Off (31 minutes that have already expired) which dropped on July 20th, and is taking the pop world by storm once again.

There is something about Posner and his musical competence that plain and simply appeals. Its could be one of the many weapons he has in his artillery, like his crazy production talent and ear for what sounds good, or an amazing ability to write songs that penetrate the listener with what seems like ease, or maybe it’s his own unique voice to top it all off. I almost forgot to mention, it doesn’t hurt to have one of the hottest most innovative names in music/production at the moment, Benny Blanco, as a co-producer. Regardless, Mike does what we have all come to know he is capable of doing with this one and brings something fresh and different from what we have heard before to the table.  I look forward to hearing the rest of his album, expected to drop in august and is currently available for pre-order on itunes.  For now, turn up the volume, open your ears and don’t hate on this pop gem!
