It wasn’t a long time ago that Mt. Wolf was playing in small pubs around London. The fresh four piece Kate Sproule, Bassi Fox, Stevie McMinn and Al Mitchell are making a name for themselves. In their second EP “Hypolight” out last week, the “Dreamfolk” band, as they define themselves, are selling out headline gigs across London, as well as catching attention of people such as Diplo.  Their “Dreamfolk” sound incorporates the elaborateness of song writing and the scopic of soundscapes which reflects in their sophomore EP “Hypolight” remains their dreamy captivating electronic bass-laden landscapes, yet reveals the sound of a band truly standing out in their own.

What do you guys do?

Kate – vocals; Stevie – guitarist; Al – drums; Bassi – production

What aspect of your music is most important to you?

Making something that both we and other people can relate to and enjoy.

What have you always wanted to do and have not done?

Actually, play at Koko in north London, but we’re getting the chance in early May which is very exciting. It’s such a beautiful venue; big but intimate at the same time.

Best/Worst decision:

Best: To all stay in London and write music. Worst: To leave all our equipment in a parked car to get stolen

Your best/worst habit?

As a band, probably fried chicken for both best and worst…

There’s this amazing subscription service called ‘Stack’ that send you a different independent arts magazine each month from around the world. You can end up with some completely bizarre but amazing things landing on your doorstep and it’s always a surprise. Pretty much gorging on that right now.
