For those of you that haven’t already caught wind, last week Beyoncé dropped a surprise self entitled 5th studio album. The currently reigning queen of the pop universe not only released her album in an unorthodox fashion but the album itself is more of a visual journal than your traditional full length –each song accompanied by video giving life to the raw emotion and passion she embodies and infecting us beyondé the sonic level.

The ground breaking album has already sold 828,773 digital units via itunes in just 3 days making it the fastest selling album in the US, ever. When asked what inspired this all her reply was, “I’m bored”, referring to the current standard for releasing music, “I feel like I’m able to speak directly to my fans. There’s so much that gets between the music, the artist and the fans.” She truly is an inspiration and the album, which features Jay Z, Drake, Frank Ocean, and last but not least Blu Ivy is nothing short of complete and masterful.
