Korean artist Lee Sol, who is known for Venus Mansion and his renaissance inspired digital artworks, recently launched his first sculptural series Venus. The series is digitally sculpted and hand-crafted, made of a combination of new and old techniques such as 3d printing and molding/casting.
Through coloring and cracking the David statue, Venus demonstrates feelings of Venus inside with liberated perspectives. “The intention is not necessarily based on their aesthetic value or historical background, but rather, is more about redefining the meaning according to my personal viewpoint”. says Lee.
The sculptural series continues the vibrant colors and lively tones from Venus Mansion, as part of Lee’s plan to expand the visual renderings to solid pieces.
