There’s something about the British that makes them sartorial sensations (think: prim hats, demure gloves, and Kate Middleton). So when something even as tiny as stamps come out, you can expect big names to jump on. The Great British Fashion Stamp Set, launched by The Royal Mail service, honors 10 top fashion houses from England, including Alexander McQueen, Paul Smith, Vivienne Westwood, and the like.
The entire series was created by London-based graphic designer Johnson Banks, who worked together with sought-after fashion photographer Sølve Sundsbø. In a two-day photo shoot at Sølve’s London studio, the duo used live models to created dynamic postures and a sense of movement on the stamps, then later removing them from the final shot. The end result? A selection of stylish poses with full focus on the textures, lines, and design of the clothes.
