A Belgian village in Italy? Not all roads lead to Rome, so they choose Milan as their destination during Il Salone del Mobile, of course. From a typical Belgian culture (it is called ‘Koterij’) to an exhibition concept.
With this concept DIFT gives labels and designers the opportunity to show their products in a setting that is very different from your everyday fair environment (and even from many city concepts during the furniture fair).
Our project was developed based on the setting of the cosiness of a Belgian village, in particular of our typical ‘annexes’ culture, in which we continue to build new annexes to an existing house. During Il Salone, we want to build an exhibition from scratch. Really from scratch, because we rented the grounds, came up with the idea of a village and are currently in the stage of developing the village itself.
What to expect?
The exhibition will thus be a Belgian enclave in Ventura Lambrate, on a surface of over 500 m2, including lamppost and town square. Several designers will exhibit their work from the 14th till the 19th of April: Alton, Atelier Belge, CRAS, De Invasie, DeltaLight, Design museum Gent, Filip Janssens, FIVE AM, Fragmenture, Giel Dedeurwaerder & Sébastien Talpe, Ilse Bruggemans, QUITCH, Sep Verboom, Serax, Studiomie, Studio Woot Woot, VOMO (represented by Jonas Van Put) and Zangra.
But that’s not all. Next to an exhibition during the day, you can stick with us till the night for some plant-based fastfood and fine dining, as Just Like Your Mom and Kevin Storms of Foodstorms are both cooking for us in Milan. You can make a reservation as of mid of March.
