The Art Hunter in Sydney

Bill Tikos, the tastemaker behind The Cool Hunter brought his vision to life in a 5000 sq ft warehouse in Sydney with the launch of an experiential exhibition; The Art Hunter.

It is a temporary three-week exhibition which is displaying the work of over 40 visual artists, including well-established masters and emerging new creatives. However, it is not your regular art exhibition space – the art is not for sale, noise is welcomed and the walls are splashed with vibrant colours.

For Tikos, The Art Hunter exhibition is a chance to develop his take on the typical, white-cube gallery space and the traditional mode of showing contemporary art.

“Art is ever-expanding and changing. I wanted to transform the typical art gallery space in a dramatic way. Most galleries are all white walls and light and not much else going on. With The Art Hunter, we have done the opposite.”

Every one of the seven exhibit spaces has its own unique theme in addition to having its own wall and floor texture and colour. The opening night also signified the Australian debut of the spectacular Jaquar C-X17 concept car. The Jaguar C-X17 concept car and brand positioning – How Alive Are You? was brought to life through the use of both audio and visual stimulus. Entering the room to hear a solid heartbeat that increased in speed and tempo, all the while visualising this through red pulse graphics on the walls, helped to create an immersive experience that demonstrated that the Jaguar C-X17 is a living and breathing machine.
