At the 61st Venice Biennale, the Japan Pavilion has been taken over by 208 baby dolls in sunglasses and colorful onesies. Ei Arakawa-Nash’s Grass Babies, Moon Babies turns the Giardini pavilion into a surreal nursery: dolls dangle from ropes, scale scaffolding towers and lounge on padded mats to a soundtrack of gentle music and baby cooing. Visitors can pick up a doll, change its diaper, and scan a QR code hidden inside to read it a poem. On view through November 22, 2026.
