Studio AH-HA is giving a breath of fresh air to the world of communication and graphic design. The studio was established in 2011 by the duo Carolina Cantante and Catarina Carreiras in Lisbon who are collaborating with an ever-changing cast of collaborators from all around the globe.
Their projects are beautifully designed and thought to enhance the visual impact of brand’s identity toward varied aspects: brand strategy, interior design, advertising, prints, patterns, photography, illustration, packaging, web design, etc.
I have selected the AVÔ project (left) which is a personal project with no clients involved in. AVÔ means grandfather in Portuguese and the project was built with Catarina’s grandfather’s love of paper and the unknown collection he left: blank notebooks, blocks of tracing paper, airplane envelopes… This project is a reminder of how paper goods used to be made with much care and beauty and the result is amazing!
