Benas Staskauskas is a Lithuanian born artist who has created a wonderful handmade jewelry collection one-of-a-kind pieces.
He spent a year in Iceland working on his first jewelry collection, learning more about nature, landscapes and cultural differences , which served as great inspiration for his distinctive jewelry style and socially responsible methods of production.
His collection, comprised of 70 rings, includes raw shapes and detailed, delicate forms. Materials run the gamut from natural to synthetic with volcanic ash, crushed lava, artificial resin, carbon, iron bones, gold and plastic. His main inspiration is to reflect the contemporary social and architectural landscape through jewelry.
He says “I call it performative sculpture and this includes basically any form and scale body related object. In other words – it’s a trigger point for characters behavior.”
Benas Staskauskas is currently searching fundings for his next collection so if you fell in love with the collection and concept and want to help, you’ll find him here.
