Sanja Marusic’s Alienated Worlds

Marusic’s work brings you to a surrealistic world that slightly has similarities to the work of Bauhaus artist Oskar Schlemmer. With its composition, playful colours and dynamic geometrical shapes. It almost seems like a very colourful alienated dimension, yet it has some darkness to it mainly because of the anonymous characters.

Marusic uses herself as a prop in her self made costumes, to create these images she travels to desolate landscapes with hard sunlight and bright contrasts. In post-production, she manipulates the images into more abstract dreamlike pictures that create a surrealistic new world as a form of escapism.
