Preen S/S 2012

Yum! Preen’s S/S 2012 collection makes me think of a beautiful 1950’s housewife baking cupcakes in her all pastel color-coordinated island kitchen. But it seems the palette send my mind in a different frame of inspiration then what designers Thea Bregazzi and Justin Thornton had in mind. The streamlined silhouette modernized what seemed like a very retro inspiration to me. Bregazzi and Thorton were actually very inspired by Virginia Woolf when they began designing this collection, “She was such a strong woman in her time,” Bregazzi said after the show.

It is a really fantastic collection with very feminine power looks. I like seeing them get into a more constructed silhouette, but with all their collections there is always a great emphasis on construction so that part is not new for Preen.
