The Brooklyn-based woodworker makes strikingly beautiful tabletop items that are almost too precious to use. Ariele Alasko is a full-time woodworker and sculptor. She has a BFA in sculpture from Pratt institute. She started working with wood and building furniture for her apartment shortly after she graduated in 2009. What was a hobby grew in to a full time job in her studio. Later, she discovered a special interest for carving spoons. Today, Alasko spends most of her time carving away in materials like walnut, sycamore, cherry and maple.
