Philippe Malouin, who is known for minimalist and experimental furniture design, has this to say about his line of work: “Design is evolving at the speed of fashion, and it’s not necessarily creating lasting pieces”. He’s currently got one work, the Hanger Chair, being developed for mass market, after having worked on commissions from Kvadrat, Swarovski, and Artek, and setting up his London based studio following his graduation from Design Academy Eindhoven. As he perhaps haphazardly looks to be the design world’s next star, Mr. Porter features him in The Journal, as one to watch.
