Parsons New School of Design was represent very strongly at the ICFF this year. Here are two projects we liked: “My Phone is Off For You” cell phone cloth which blocks cell phone signals and helps you have a quiet and peaceful meal at the restaurant.
The caterpillar Stool is made of walnut veneered plywood and heavy-duty bunge cord. A CNC machine was used to cut the parts and thread the small pieces with the cord. All the design and construction works, include research, ideation. Scale model and prototypes are done in the classroom and wood shop in parsons product design department.
