As part of this exceptional evening, the Canadian choreographer Crystal Pite presents her first creation for the Company, alongside a new work conceived by William Forsythe in July 2016 for the dancers of the Paris Opera Ballet.
This event enables us to collect funds in aid of the Ballet thanks to the support of Rolex, Exclusive Timepiece of the Paris Opera, of Christian Dior Parfums, Partner of the Opening Gala, and from the Honorary Committee, gathering the most generous donors of the evening, both individuals and companies.
After the performance a six-handed supper orchestrated by Le Fooding is served, bringing together three ambassadors of the revival of French gastronomy: Alexandre Gauthier, of la Grenouillere at la Madelaine-sous-Montreuil; Katsuaki Okiyama, chef of the Abri in Paris, and David Toutain, owner of a restaurant bearing his name. Philippe Sereys de Rothschild and maison Ruinart also bring their support by offering respectively the wines and the champagne.
