Myanmar Temples from Above by Dimitar Karanikolov

London-based photographer Dimitar Karanikolov has captured breathtaking views of Buddhist temples in Myanmar, one of the most devout Buddhist countries in the world. Some of the pictures were taken using a lightweight drone, others being taken during a tour in a hot air ballon.

The thousands of temples across the plains of Bagan, Yangon and Mandalay are the most impressive testament to the religious devotion of Myanmar’s people. They combine to form one of the richest archaeological sites in Asia and are culturally important to the identity of Myanmar.

From Above is an aerial project that can be found on Karanikolov’s behance page. In this project we can also see the view from above of Venice, Philippines and Bulgaria.
