A water bath, some colours and pieces of wood is all that it takes Pernille Snedker Hansen to create this magic for the feet. And a good fantasy of course.
The Danish designer has been developing innovative design techniques in her snedker°studio since 2009. Marbelous Wood reinterprets this classic domestic feature with vibrating colours across wood’s surface. It’s an old marbling technique, known from manufacture of old book covers.
Today in Snedker’s studio it pieces of wood, a vibrant, organic and colourful pattern, while ornamentation of the wood itself has been enlarged and intensified. Refraction of the light and colours though the prism is the inspiration, which dictates the form of the parquet, as well as the applied pattern to each section of the nascent floor.
Captured unique frozen moments of the nature, colour and handcraft, emerged with little stories of each footprint, creates a domestic coziness and oneness – a piece biggest and most functional art piece of the house.
