Young French artist Valentin Fougeray first started focusing on art in 2009 after studying architecture. Transversality is at the heart of Valentin’s work, with an aesthetic born and nourished by a plethora of encounters. Without limiting himself by one definitive field; his various influences and creative outlets build his style, and above all, questioning perception is at the core of his creations. Tracks are blurred, illustrating the ambiguity of space, time and reality.
For the series below, Valentin looked at the tension inherent to balance; The series comprises of a series of experimental constructions built by Valentin, from plastic lattice casting a soft shadow against a monochromatic wall, to soft pink bubble-wrap forming strong, architectural lines as it folds to a pyramidal form.
