The Remix Artist Collective (RAC) is an agency made up of international musician/remix artists devoted to the preservation of the art of remixing. Their unique re-interpretive style strives to stray from the technical and precise, soul lacking, “techno mix”, and delves into the original tracks emotional aesthetic giving new life to it by expanding on the genre and musical arrangement. RAC, composed of founder Andre Allen Anjos (Portugal/USA), Chris Angelovski aka “Crookram” (Netherlands), and Andrew Maury (New York), has since its creation in 2007 built a respectable presence in the indie remix scene, landing remix gigs with artists such as The Shins, U2, and Kings Of Leon as well as accumulating quite the following.
RAC’s remix of Hockeys ‘Too Fake’ off their album RAC 1.5 (released December 2009) is my new theme song. Combine Benjamin Grubin’s (singer of Hockey) undeniable vocal sex appeal with the fresh electronic brilliance of an RAC edit and you get a must have on your party/dance playlist. Enjoy.
