Branding for Tonchin – an acclaimed chain of ramen restaurants from Tokyo – mixes Japanese design influences with the spirit of New York.
Designed by LMNOP Creative, it stands out thanks to unique geometric graphics and patterns applies onto menu’s back covers, bowls and scarves worn by the staff. The visuals inspired the interior where wall graphics were conceived by Carpenter + Mason.
Another tribute to Japanese culture comes with a hand-stitched noren hanging over the kitchen door created by a textile artist Alison Charli Smith. Tonchin is a place where the West and the East, the visual and the physical meet.
