FurNature, a project by Sovrappensiero Design Studio, seeks to regain the balance between local and global, indoors and out, functionality and aesthetic. The project includes minimalist design that beautifully merges nature and modern furniture. The balance between the two elements is cleverly represented by the designs below, where a sleek, white table can only stand when a rugged rock is used as its centering weight.
The key to this project is that these products are incomplete. They rely on their owner, the consumer, to complete them by choosing their own unique piece of nature or the outdoors and then integrating that into the FurNature design. This allows people to connect with the furniture that makes up a home in a way that hasn’t yet been achieved. Each user can create a different feel for a piece by customizing it with elements from their own backyard, home, or country creating a wonderful link between people and land, furniture and home, nature and manufacturing.
