Emporio Armani S/S 2012

Neodesign isn’t exactly what comes to mind when you think of Emporio Armani, but as the collection title given by Giorgio himself, it was definitely their direction for the season.

Blonde-wigged models—many of which were donning uniform black and white fedoras—and the use of stark black edging did give off a very futuristic, sci-fi appearance. Even pieces that have been done time and time again, such as blazers, demure knee-length dresses, and suit sets, get a push into the future, with fashion forward geometric detailing. But take a closer look, and you actually see a lot of distinct details that break through the uniformity—glittery slips, sequined sleeveless jackets, Lucite wedges, and feminine ribbons from neck to toe.
