Our proclivity towards the work of artist duo Cooper & Gorfer has already been highlighted in the past with an overview of “The Weather Diaries”.
The roots of West Nordic fashion are undeniably stunning in that series, yet this time we are captivated by the series “I Know Not These My Hands”, in which the portraitists show the spirit and soul of Argentina’s self-image, marked by centuries of unhealed wounds. Sometimes Cooper & Gorfer’s references are apparent, as their work is full of metaphors. In other works, the references are more general. Overall, the individuals in Cooper & Gorfer’s portraits transcend their own personal stories, turning into symbols of an entire nation.
