For those of you who have never seen it, enjoyed it one time, or many times, Sunset Boulevard (1950) is a Hollywood classic not to be missed.
Gloria Swanson gives arguably her most memorable performance as a faded silent film star caught in the middle of a homicide drama. William Holden also stars in the Billy Wilder-written and directed film, which was nominated for 11 Academy Awards and won 3. Swanson is deliciously creepy in the semi-referential role, as she deliriously plots her return to the silver screen. The film noir drama takes place in a decadent, palatial mansion on Hollywood’s Sunset Boulevard.
