This week’s trailer, Keep The Lights On, previews a moving and honest portrayal of the love between two men in New York as their relationship evolves, matures and is challenged by drug addiction.
Based on a past relationship of director Ira Sachs, the film follows documentary filmmaker Erik and closeted lawyer Paul as their instant attraction evolves to become a powerful relationship. Alas, Paul’s drug addiction gradually becomes a dominant force threatening to tear them apart. The warm tonality of the cinematography depicts New York in its many different manifestations and complements a perfectly pitched story of a realistic romance.
