Trailer Tuesday: Amadeus

See the life and times of Austria’s greatest artist unfold in Milos Froman’s 1984 classic film adapted from stage, Amadeus.

The story is centered around Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (played by Tom Hulce) and fellow composer Antonio Salieri, who, according to this tale, conspired to murder the man for whom he held great envy.  Having confessed to Mozart’s murder, Salieri narrates the story of having met and observed the young Mozart, whose lewd and irreverent behavior greatly contrasts that of his own religious nature.  Through the film, we are exposed to Mozart’s genius, which undoubtedly inspired the beautiful costumes and sets.  He is charismatic, passionate, and unbridled, which later leads his descent into madness and destitution, and eventually his mysterious death.
