Monica Menez is an award-winning fashion photographer and filmmaker based in Germany. Through her signature style which is always peppered with bits of absurdity, humor and eroticism, she fulfills her artistic intention to mix the world’s of fashion and art, in an appealing and unique way.
“It always depends on the project whether a still or moving image is the more adequate medium”, says Monica Menez. This open-minded approach towards fashion and art is one of the reasons why her work is so multifaceted.
In her latest short film project “Journey”, for which she received the Award for “Best Art Direction” at ASVOFF 7, she exploits the power of a woman who uses MAN merely as a tool to get what she needs done. Her protagonist is very self-confident, almost dominant, and she knows that just a smile is enough to get everything she needs.
