This multimedia artist is well versed in all aspects of restaurant culture and design. Chef Ross Lusted has found himself in many globally acclaimed kitchens such as Rockpool, Park Hyatt Sydney’s harbourkitchen&bar, Singapore’s Mezza9, Amanresorts, and now back to Australia to open his first restaurant – The Bridge Room. His talents do not stop once he steps out of the heat. Lusted’s creative touch can be found in most aspects of his new establishment. Weather it is the interior or kitchen design, architectural specifications, styling and presentation or his custom made ceramics, chef is involved in it all.
Claiming a muddled European and Asian cooking style, many artistic techniques are dancing around the kitchen, like using charcoal and slow smoking in the Japanese Robata style. This chef is on an unstoppable rise, he has even collaborated with Taubmans paints in a stunning culinary interiors series that proves inspiration can come from anywhere. Dining in The Bridge Room is like shaking the hand of all the best local artisans and purveyors. Weather it be the Wizards of Wood oak tables, Vic’s meats, photographer Michele Aboud and many more, The Bridge Room is the place to experience local fare and ambiance with international technique. A trip to Australia is definitely in my near future.
