The Best of Design Trends at Pirana Eatery [London]

Conceived by a local design practice, Sella Concept, Pirana restaurant in London’s Balham is described by architects as a place where “bright, blue mosaic paired with red metal window frame facade leads you inside to experience a mix of jade terrazzo flooring, with micro mosaic tiling at the bar”.

Stark shades were combined with muted tones to create a balanced yet modern effect that contrasts with hints of 1950 American diner decor. Retro elements such as booth seating with red upholstery and modernist chairs are present yet not dominant. Modern touches introduced by architects add more edge to the space. One of them is an eclectic mix of different textures – from classic wood through industrial concrete to famous terrazzo. Featuring a light-filled main dining hall and a darker back room, Pirana offers different zones that guests can choose from according to the experience they wish for. Armed with an appealing branding designed by Sella Concept for consistency, when it comes to good design, Pirana has it all.
