A candy lover’s paradise for over one hundred years, this idyllic shop in Philadelphia continues to channel the sweetest parts of the good old days.
We discovered it recently in Shopkeepers : Storefront Businesses and the Future of Retail and had to shine light on this impressive time capsule stocked with vintage flavor and charm. The shop has stood in the same spot you’ll find it in today since 1911. Current owners and brothers Ryan and Eric Berley took over the business in 2010. The dedicated new owners have worked diligently to preserve and recapture Shane Confectionery’s period splendor from when it first opened more than a century ago.
