London’s much anticipated show Preen, (Justin Thornton and Thea Bregazzi) was minimal in hair and make up, architectural in silhouette and big on prints and color combinations. Animal/reptile prints paired with various sized stripes in black, whites and blues( with an intermittent punch of color thrown in) on boxy tops and very cool skirts which sat on the waist and slouched below the knee cap demanded attention of buyers and customers. They also combined a pink/magenta (which somehow alternated as soft and vibrant) flower print that played beautifully on these modern, crisp skirts, tops and dresses. After showing in NYC for the last 5 years, Thornton and Bregazzi gave London a very strong, thought out collection. Shown at the Darwin Centre,(a space of architectural grandeur, clean, modern) which is attached to the Natural History Museum (neo-Gothic), interesting pairing considering the fresh, current silhouette and animal/flora print choices.
