For S/S 2013, designers Peter Pilotto and Christopher De Vos cited their experience as Pitti Uomo’s featured womenswear designers as a key influence. Artistic designer Johnny Lu even created a new computer program to the line’s signature digital prints for this feature. At Pitti, the duo clearly evolved their prints, and for Spring they are even more rich and three dimensional than before through the use of textured fabrics, ruffles and trims. Beadwork and embroidery work their way into the collection alongside signature sport elements such as mesh; red, orange, light blue and neons added to the palette of black and white. Silhouettes evolved as well, as full skirted looks were offered alongside their usual body con, pencil shapes. We applaud the ever growing haute couture sensibility at what continues to be one of London’s strongest lines.
