Bangkok’s MADA Design Factory decked out a new local ice cream shop in their city. Shying away from the frou frou commonly associated with dessert places, they went for a novel combination of pistachio, red and rose gold, executed all the way to the bathrooms. Led by creative director Nisachol Loetritsirikul, the design team used white tiles and wooden boxes to evoke a vintage dairy theme. But the radial red and white pattern on the tables remind us of a big top in a circus—perhaps another whimsical inspiration. Looking up at the mural of fluffy clouds on the ceiling, we can’t help but think of lazy days at the fair, ice cream cone in hand.
