Fashion photographer Jasper Abels has brought fashion, nature and art together with “Nature Calls” to raise awareness for sustainability and plastic waste. For their non-profit initiative Aura, Jasper Abels created this marvellous story together with hair stylist Daan Kneppers and make-up artist Mascha Meyer. Some of the models starring in these surrealistic landscapes are Jelle Haen, Josefien Rodermans, Justine Cornelissens, Djura Siebenga and Dorith Mous who are portrayed as goddesses.
In post-productions Abels used collage techniques combining the photos with old paintings from the Rijksmuseum archive, which is one of most famous museums of the Netherlands.
The 6 photo collages are published in the newest Mirror Mirror magazine an Amsterdam based beauty and fashion magazine. These images also have been auctioned for charity: the dolphin protectors of The Dolphin Project by former Flipper trainer Ric O’Barry. Who addresses this very sincere problem that earns a lot more attention, even after the documentary The Cove that covers these issues. For now, enjoy Abels his beautiful dream world with bare skinned models in nature and it’s endangered animals.
