Latched to a sunny plateau in Hafling (Avelengo) in the Dolomites, the boutique Miramonti sits within a carpet of hillside forest overlooking Merano with spectacular bird’s eye vistas of captivating Alto Adige – this is South Tyrol from the top down as seen from this style pad.
Although this classical Alpine retreat has been cleverly spliced with modernity, the roots of the region are sensed through vintage pieces dotted throughout adding a nostalgic charm to the mountainous culture of the place.
Housed within an aged chocolate box exterior of pure Alpine pedigree, the light, breezy interiors draw an altogether more contemporary thread that is fittingly elegant with heaps of that most modest and honest of materials, wood.
As if created & engineered by nature itself, the Spa of the Miramonti Hotel is perched onto the mountainside with a forest as the backdrop canopy.
As the name of the hotel suggests – we are talking here about views of sheer mountain eye-candy and from the Spa at 1230 metres- above-sea-level – you could almost grasp at the cotton clouds.
The absolute belleza and WOW factor is the new salt-water (Sole) pool of mountain infinity – it’s like swimming on top of the Alps.
Clever architecture has mimicked nature wrapping the pool in ancient volcanic slaps and Pfitschner silver quartz adding a magical cave-like grotto effect. Another ingenious taming of nature is the steps-away new Forest Sauna backed by the dense woodlands, the designer pod rests on stilts with floor-to-ceiling glass frontage dressed inside simply with bold black Hemlock adding a moody sense of visual drama. Outside is a courtyard Jacuzzi.
