London based Spanish architect / designer Marta Bordes started to grow interest for product and material while studying ceramics at Escuela de Cerámica Francisco Alcántara (Madrid). In 2015 she graduated from MA Design Ceramics, Furniture and Jewelry at Central Saint Martins and launched her first collection of ‘Elastic Lights. With two sections linked by elastic cords revealing a functionality to what, at first glance, appears solely an aesthetic appendage. The compelling use of color — both in ceramics and elastics — packs a visual punch enhancing its versatility and appeal.
