Jane Thomas’ Soap Film

Jane Thomas couldn’t have described her new series better than when she wrote, “Oh my, I can feel a new addiction coming on!” as the first sentence of the description. “I read today that it’s possible to photograph soapy liquid stretched in a circle and I have spent ages today trying to work out how to do it!”

The Scotland-based creative plays with a mixture of sugar, soap, and water in a ring the size of a teaspoon, creating an array of colorful and psychedelic imagery. Jane then documents her progress and snapshots on her Flickr account, aptly called Jane in Color, showcasing beautiful changes in angles and lighting, Jane’s Soap Film series is just one of the many colorful visual endeavors she puts on her site, all definitely worth a good, long look.
