Written by Guest Blogger Madeline Rudin After admitting that her collection’s [unofficial] inspiration was pro skateboarding champion Patti McGee, Holly Fulton’s S/S 2013 designs seemed even more sanguine and SoCal-spirited. Between the monochromatic prints and beaded embellishments, the sharply tailored garments told a story set in the 1960’s. Her color palette strayed only slightly from shades of blue and pink to incorporate signature eye-catching and exotic ornamental accents in orange or black. The collection, which included pieces both casual and surprisingly formal, remained vivacious while staying just shy of garish– save for the occasional built in bolo tie.
