Holes & Corner’s Interview with Tom

Flowers

Hole & Corner magazine interviewed Tom from Tom Flowers, a boutique florist based in Canonbury, London. On his favorite English flower, Tom professes his love for peonies and roses—the Yves Piaget rose, to be exact. Regarding the importance of foliage, the British florist points out that it is used to “enhance, if anything, you’re not using it just to fill out a bouquet,” proving that those green leaves we often disregard are pivotal in highlighting flowers. Tom does show favoritism, however, when it comes to British flowers. He compares them to their tropical relatives by saying their power is in their romance and simplicity. Regarded as the ultimate symbol of beauty, flowers will always be a relevant topic of admiration.
