Hotel Carlota in Mexico City has been envisioned by a local studio JSa Arquitectura. The sleek space is located in a building dating back to 1970s, featuring an exquisite courtyard that is now home to a narrow, oblong swimming pool. A glass facade has been kept and the interior makes plenty of references to industrialism, from steel surfaces through concrete floors to raw wood furniture. Breeze-block walls separate the space that counts a bar, restaurant and a library decorated with colonial finds. All of the 36 rooms have been completed in collaboration with Mexican design studios and favor elegant austerity.
