Throughout his life, famed Italian architect and designer Ettore Sottsass worked across a variety of disciplines, all the while honing a colorful and playful legacy. He made significant contributions to the Memphis Group, blurring lines between furniture and fashion, and enlivening the function of everyday objects. Now celebrated design accessories retailer Darkroom is making their tribute, with an in store installation and limited edition collection inspired by the late great artist. Studiopepe, Spotti Edizione, Jamie Julien-Brown, Elke Kramer, Hay, Zuzunaga and Stone Theatre all collaborated on the collection, doing their part to emulate the postmodernist style championed by Sottsass at the Memphis Group. Objets d’art, textiles, pillows, stationary bags and more all capture the Sottsass spirit with a 21st century twist. Check out the Lamb’s Conduit Street Darkroom location, which has been transformed into an installation of the results.
