I was invited by SmartWater Monday night at the Lincoln Center to go to the Council of Fashion Designers of America. The entire fashion scene gathered to pay tribute and honor some of its most esteemed talents for the 2012 CFDA Fashion Awards. Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen were the night’s stars as they took home the top honor of Womenswear Designer of the Year for The Row. Actor Matt Bomer introduced Billy Reid, who took home the prize for Menswear Designer of the Year and Reed Krakoff took home the Accessory Designer of the Year Award. The awards were underwritten by Swarovski with special Swarovski awards for Joseph Altuzarra (womenswear), Phillip Lim (Menswear) and Tabitha Simmons (accessory).
