Central Saint Martins 2008 Shinning Star

Central Saint Martins Fashion Week Show is one place I can always expect to be surprised, inspired, and assured that our generation will, in fact, leave a mark in the crazy industry we still call fashion. The show has this feeling of freedom of expression and journey of concept. Not to say that the entire show prescribes this kind of sensation, but there is always at least one shinning star, an undeniable success story to be written.

The excitement of discovering these talents at their very first debut invigorates me more than seeing some of my favorite designers present their new collections. Annalisa Dunn, Marios Schwab, and Christopher Kane are just three of my favorite CSM designers who have debuted their collections in the last few years and blown my mind. This year Mary Katrantzou takes it home with her color-block jersey dresses with large necklace shaped digital prints inspired by African tribal adornment. Color-blocking and African inspiration will be very dominant in 2008-2009. Look out for the New Star!
