Richie Velazquez is an artist of the social media generation. The digital illustrator from Riverside, California explains that his process is to come up with stuff and just throw it on Tumblr and Instagram. “I think working for yourself is key!” he says.
One day, @deladeso, as he goes by on IG, was scrolling through his Explore feed and saw something that looked to him like a road kill Mickey Mouse. “I clicked and it turned out to be a desert that just had the same colors of Mickey.” Needless to say, inspiration hit and he worked on a bunch of other characters that day, which he’s leaving up to the audience to I.D.
