A ROMANTIC HIDEAWAY WHERE THE CONTACT WITH NATURE AND THE ESSENCE OF COMPORTA IS PRIVILEGED. IDEAL FOR RELAXING AND RECHARGING THE BATTERIES. CABANAS IN THE RIVER IS 1 HOUR TO THE SOUTH OF LISBON.
Cabanas no Rio is a project of the architect Manuel Aires Mateus, to recover two old fishing huts. The huts were “planted” along the banks of the river and have a small pontoon over the water, with stunning views of the surrounding nature of Sado, Portugal. Integrated in the natural reserve of the river Sado, home to a great wildlife such as flamingos, storks and dolphins. It is one of the best places in Portugal for bird watching.
In the 1st cabin is the bedroom with a bathroom. The shower has the particularity of being able to be used both outdoors and indoor.
In the 2nd cabin is the living room, it has a small kitchen equipped to prepare simple meals. A very secluded and bespoke experience indeed. Back to basics in a very concious way.
The huts were carefully reimaniged – all fashioned from recycled timber.
